Abandoned design: Great Pumking

This is a combining robot design from 2 years ago.

After finishing robot designs for a Tokusatsu show called Giant Savers, I got this commission to design 5 robots for 5 cartoon characters, with animateable 3D models, capable to combine as one.
The project was planned to develop a TV show and a toy series, so my designs had to be possible translating into plastic form.

According to the story brief, our characters were supposed to defend their "Pumkin Town" by piloting these robots. Although nothing else in the story suggest anything about pumkin, I'll just call them Pumkinbots and the combined form Great Pumking.

Story was supposed to be happy and funny. It's for young kids. So my idea was to have the individual bots looking stumphy, then the combined form muscluar and powerful.
And I put more 80s-super-robot-retro elements into him, just my personal flavor.

Unfortunately the company went down with this project, then the final pay check never came. Guess I own the design now XD
So, after Dreamwave, Fleer Cards, First-4-Figures and Beam Animation, this is the latest collection to my "Kill Party A (or their project) By Getting Involved" list LOL
